  PRODUCT DETAIL : Transaction Reporting

Select columns with up to 3 levels of grouping and subtotals.         now with automatic refresh functionality!

How this report was built in 5 steps...

Step #1, enter the report filters

A filter applies constraints to the data on your data source.  You might apply filters to restrict the range of values that are of interest to you. You will apply filters to the list of fields available in your data source.  These are shown in the Range grid.

Filters can be typed into the wizard directly or they can be sourced from a cell or range of cells in your workbook.

What makes Atlas unique...
Filter syntax is the same as Axapta, eg 40* for all accounts that begin with "40".

Atlas builds Axapta Queries and passes these queries for Axapta to resolve.

Step #2, Decide on the columns to be grouped

The report is to be grouped by ledger account
and sorted by date.

  • Click the Group level 1 drop down and select Ledger account from the list

  • Tick the Include description check box

  • Select the Sorting drop-down and select Date, leave the sort order as Ascending

Step #3, Adding subtotals

You can add sub-totals for each group level. Atlas will also include a grand total.

Here the Amount currency and amount are to be totaled:

  • Click the Subtotal tab

  • Using the < or << buttons, remove all but the Amount and Amount currency columns from the selected fields list

Step #4, Choosing a format for the output

In this case the worksheet defines the formatting and as such the formatting of the report will be left as None.

The number style will remain as Comma.

  • Click the format tab

  • Click the Auto-format drop-down and select None

  • Ensure the Number style is Comma

Last, Saved your selections to you can refresh

Use the saved parameters to record the settings of the wizard. The named range acts as a place-holder and is used to position the report in the same spot the next time the saved settings are used.

  • Click the Save tab

  • Type Transaction Inquiry into the Save as box

  • Type Inquiry1 in the named range box

  • Click OK or Apply to run the report
